CNN: USPS OFFERS CUSTOMERS THE BEST DEAL

USPS OFFERS CUSTOMERS THE BEST DEAL.

CNN reports that the Postal Service has absorbed the increasing costs of higher gas prices, according to USPS spokesman Jim Quirk on American Morning. Every penny increase in gas adds $8 million to expenses, Quirk said, and by the end of this fiscal year, higher fuel prices are expected to add $300 million to transportation costs compared to last year. He credited postal management for taking costs out of the system and shifting mail from air to over the road without compromising service standards. Quirk added that USPS offers the best deal and reminded consumers they can save gas by going online at usps.com and USPS will pick up their packages.
