Suspension of drop shipments to Louisiana ZIP Codes 700, 701, 703, and 706

Effective immediately, the Postal Service is suspending drop shipments to offices in Louisiana's 700, 701, 703, and 706 ZIP Code areas.

Express Mail embargoed to parts of Houston, TX and Louisiana.

Effective immediately, the Postal Service is not accepting Express Mail for destinations in the Houston 776 and 777 ZIP Code areas or Louisiana’s 700, 701, 703, 704 and 706 ZIP Code areas.

This message will be updated as conditions change.

DADC Periodicals Drops for ADC New Orleans LA 700

Periodicals and news publications formerly dropped at the DADC entry level into ADC New Orleans LA 700 should now be dropped at the Bulk Mail Center in Memphis, TN, 38999 — excluding any mail for ZIP Codes where service is suspended.

To receive the best service for these publications, it is strongly recommended that direct containers for 325, 365, 366 and 394 be drop shipped into the appropriate destination SCF entry points (DSCF) for the following locations as listed in DMM L005:

325 PENSACOLA FL 325
365, 366 SCF MOBILE AL 365
394 HATTIESBURG MS 394

Express Mail embargo to ZIP Code 395 lifted.

The Postal Service is now accepting Express Mail destined for ZIP Codes 369, 393, 394, 395 and 396.

Express Mail embargoed to parts of Louisiana

The suspension of Express Mail to ZIP Codes 700, 701 and 704 remains in effect. In addition, effective immediately, the Postal Service is not accepting Express Mail for ZIP Codes 703 and 706.

The suspension of Standard Mail (Letters and Flats) and Periodicals Mail destined for ZIP Codes 369, 393, 394, 396 and 704 has been lifted, but remains in effect for ZIP Codes 395, 700, and 701.

Drop shipment appointments to ZIP Codes 369, 393, 394, 396 and 704 are being accepted — but appointments are required before any drop shipments can occur.

Ongoing Service Issues

Louisiana (Current as of 9/26/05 - 11 a.m.)

Suspension of retail, delivery service and drop shipments to Louisiana ZIP Codes 700, 701, 703, and 706

Effective immediately, retail and delivery service as well as drop shipments of Standard, Periodicals and Parcels are suspended to offices in Louisiana's 700, 701, 703 and 706 ZIP Code areas.

Mississippi (Current as of 9/26/05 - 9 a.m.)

Partial services are available at the following Mississippi offices: Gulfport (39501, 39507); Bay St. Louis (39520); Stennis Space Center (39529); Biloxi (39530); Gautier (39553); Kiln (39556); Pascagoula (39567); Pass Christian (39571); Pearlington (39572) and Waveland (39576).

All other Mississippi offices are unaffected or have returned to full service.

Drop shipments to the Gulfport Plant and any delivery and retail units in ZIP Codes 395 are suspended until further notice.

Drop shipments are resumed by appointment only in ZIP Codes 369, 393, 394 and 396. Drop shipments for these zones will not be accepted without appointments.

Alabama (Current as of 9/26/05 - 9 a.m.)

Partial services are available at the following Alabama offices: Bayou La Batre (36509); Dauphin Island (36528); Mobile (ZIP Codes 36602, 36604, 36605, 36606, 36607, 36608, 36609, 36610, 36611, 36615, 36617, 36618, 36619, 36693 and 36695) and Eight Mile (36613).

All other Alabama offices are unaffected or have returned to full service.

The Mobile Processing and Distribution Center will accept drop shipments by appointment only for zones 365 & 366. Drop shipments for these zones will not be accepted without appointments.

Texas (Current as of 9/26/05 - 11 a.m.)

Suspension of Drop Shipments into Texas 3-digit ZIP Codes 776 and 777.

Effective immediately, all drop shipments into 3-digit ZIP Codes 776 and 777 are suspended until further notice. Under no circumstances should drop shipments for these ZIP Codes be entered at alternate sites.

The suspension of drop shipments to ZIP Code areas 770, 773, 774, 775, 779, 783, 784, and 785 has been lifted.

Retail and Delivery Service suspended to ZIP Codes 776 and 777.

Effective immediately, and until further notice, retail and delivery service in the following 3-digit Texas ZIP Code ranges are suspended: 776 and 777.

This remains a dynamic situation and we will be posting system changes as they occur.
